Were getting so close!! (35 weeks)

4 weeks left (and only 4 more trips into the office), but who’s counting ;)  The “uncomfortable” part of this pregnancy is slowly creeping in.  I’m actually still not too bad, but I am ready to meet this little man J  I know the next 4 weeks are going to go fast, and I am starting to get a little nervous about having a newborn, but at least I will be able to get some snuggle time in again.  I still sneak in a snuggle or two with Rylee, but they are few and far between.  I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for having a c-section for the second time around, hopefully it goes as smooth as the first one.  I think I am a little more nervous this time around only because I know what is going to happen.  We have decided on a name, I think...  Well actually, we decided on the name a while ago, but I have finally come to terms with it ;)  It always takes me a while.  For whatever reason, we haven’t told anybody the name yet, so you will just have to wait and see if we decide to reveal it before or after the birth!

FALL!!

We had so much fun for all of the good fall activities: pumpkin patch, apple orchard, and of course, Halloween!

I absolutely love going to the pumpkin patch and the yummy food that comes with it, caramel apples and kettle corn (and we added a new one – warm mini chocolate chip cookies)!!  We bought some at the pumpkin patch, but then I decided it wasn’t enough, so I made more caramel apples and caramel corn in the weeks that followed ;)  Well, if I am being totally honest, I also made a huge batch of pumpkin bread and then some yummy Halloween cupcakes with a chocolate chip cookie in it!  This baby needs to get here before I overload on sweets in our house!  We have learned from the past that the best time to go to Vala’s is on a weekday, because it is CrAzY on the weekends.  The lines at least are not a mile long.

We also made it to an apple orchard in Ceresco, NE.  It was a pretty small family run orchard, but they had lots of kid play areas throughout the orchard, so we had fun!  We picked a ton of apples and brought home another pumpkin.

And lastly, HALLOWEEN.  Rylee was a pirate this year and I made her pirate skirt that turned out super cute.  It was a tutu made out of ribbon and scrap fabric.  We went to a little trick-or-treat thing at UNO and there happened to be a pirate show that they put on and one of the pirate ladies had a real parrot!  I thought for sure Rylee would be scarred of it, but nope, she went right up to the lady and wanted to feed the darn thing!  Due to my fear of birds, I made sure to stand back and just take the pictures!!  Halloween night we trick-or-treated with Braxton, the neighbor across the street.  Rylee and Braxton were too cute!!  Rylee kept poking his Dinosaur belly with her pirate sword and then he would try to get her with his tail.  By the end, they were both worn out and had a ton of candy!

3rd Trimester and Rylee’s 3 (28 weeks)!!

I made it to the 3rd trimester!!!  I think I have probably said this before, but I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by.   This little stinker is going to be here VERY soon.  There isn’t too much to update since we found out what we were having, which is what I felt like when I was pregnant with Rylee too.  It seems like the second half is just a waiting game.  I have been feeling really good, other than just a growing belly.  I can still breath good (rather than feeling like I was suffocating with Rylee) and I haven’t had to break out the body pillow to sleep yet!  I feel like I had to sleep with that darn body pillow for a long time while I was pregnant with Rylee to sleep somewhat comfortably, but so far I have been sleeping pretty good this time around!  I did have my 28 week doctor’s appointment last week and got to drink the infamous orange drink for my glucose test, which also meant that I had to have my blood drawn again L  The person who took my blood was much faster this time, so I didn’t get to the point of feeling like I was going to pass out.  However, I also had to get another Tdap shot – so my left arm was feeling it after we left that appointment.  I had a Tdap shot while I was still in the hospital after having Rylee, but they recommend it now during every pregnancy so the whooping cough part of the vaccine can transfer to the baby since they can’t get that vaccine when they are a newborn.  They also wanted to give me the flu shot, but I talked them into holding off until my next appointment!  I think we are also getting to the point on deciding on a name!!  It’s actually the name I had in mind all along, but it always takes me awhile to get completely comfortable with it (same thing happened when trying to decide Rylee’s name).  I will hold off a little while longer in revealing it, though, until I am 100% sure J  I have slowly been accumulating baby boy clothes when I go to Target each week for grocery shopping.  I feel like I had to barely buy anything for Rylee during her first year because we got so much clothes from baby showers, but since I am not having a shower this time around, there is A LOT of clothes I need to stock up on!  It is fun being able to buy baby boy stuff this time around!  His nursery is almost ready too!  We just finished painting his room, the crib is set up, and we moved Rylee’s old dresser into the room.  I just have a few things to make for the walls, and it should be all ready to go!

I can’t believe Rylee is 3 already!!  She is starting to turn into a little girl and I can’t seem to make it stop J  Good thing we have another one coming  along to give me a baby back!  On her actual birthday, we went to the zoo.  She LOVES the carousel, so we let her ride it twice since it was her birthday ;)  We then celebrated with family and friends with a zebra themed birthday party.  This is the first year Rylee understood what a birthday party was and she was soooo excited about it.  She made sure we had balloons, streamers, goody bags, birthday cake, and, of course, presents!  She got so many new toys, I don’t think she knows what to do with them all.  I think her favorite one was a Doc McStuffins doctor set, which of course came from her best friend across the street, Braxton ;)  We just took her 3 year/family professional pictures, and I am anxiously awaiting to see them!  This year, we walked around the Old Market and just snapped pictures in front of all the fun doorways, alleys, vines, etc.  I have seen a few “teasers” our photographer posted to her facebook page, which only makes it worse, because I want to see them ALL!!  It is finally feeling like fall outside and I cannot wait to go to the pumpkin patch (to take Rylee of course ;)).  We are going to try to make it to an apple orchard this year too.  I think Rylee will have fun picking apples, and it’s another excuse to enjoy fall!

Wrong Again ;)

It's a boy!!!

So I was wrong again and John was right!  I truly didn't care the outcome of the gender, but I am so excited to learn we are going to be adding another boy to the mix (I am sure John is even more excited then I am :)).  Our family could probably use a break from the bossy females that already think they run the house!  This little stinker had his "stuff' showing for all to see the very second the picture came up on the ultrasound.  He certainly wasn't bashful to let us know he was a boy.  All other aspects of the ultrasound looked perfect and we also got to see a 3D image with him (although they are kind of creepy to me).  As much as I wanted to learn the gender that day, I was overjoyed to hear that he also looked perfectly healthy.

Rylee has been saying through this whole pregnancy that she wants a baby brother UNTILL right before the ultrasound.  Apparently she changed her mind to wanting a sister, and she has still said that for the last couple days even though we keep telling her she is going to have a baby brother.  One way or another, she will have to deal with a little brother in just over 4 months whether she want's one or not!

I feel like I was so behind in figuring out how to decorate Rylee's nursery, but this time around, I already have the ideas going into motion.  Colors are picked, I just have to put it all together.  I always liked going shopping for our friends' boys birthday parties just because I only was able to buy girl stuff, but now I get to buy it for my own little stinker.

Fourth of July and other stuff

(18 weeks)
Rylee had so much fun for the Fourth of July and didn't mind the fireworks at all!  By the end of it, she was throwing smokers (smoke bombs as she likes to call them) like a pro!  On the actual 4th, we went to the lake with some friends, including her TWO "boyfriends."  There was a little tension between the two.  One boyfriend, Braxton, lives across the street and the other is some friends of our's son, Sylas.  At one point, Braxton and Rylee were eating their lunch on a towel together, and Sylas made sure he needed to show who was boss and came and sat between the two.  It was pretty funny!  We had a blast watching the kids play in the sand and the water.  However, I also rediscovered why I hate one-piece swim suits.  I have a maternity swimsuit tank top, but it was way to big still.  So I went out and bought a one piece.  Lets just say I felt like a five year old going to the bathroom having to to take that whole thing off!  I won't be wearing that again.  I think I was scarred when I was a lifeguard seeing too many bare pregnant bellies on ladies who probably shouldn't have been in a two piece when they weren't pregnant!  Needless-to-say, I am not a fan of showing off my bare prego belly :)  We then continued the celebration of the Fourth on Saturday at my Aunt's house.  Rylee got to go swimming again and I got to eat delicious food, we were a happy family!!

Yesterday (Sunday), our neighbors invited us to going boating with them, and we all had a blast.  They also invited our neighbors who have Braxton, so Rylee had a friend on the boat too!  I swear Rylee is turning into a little dare-devil.  I used to feel like she was scared of everything, but she loved to sit at the front of the boat and kept telling them to "GO FASTER!!" Emily (Braxton's mom) and I were talking when we first got on the boat that we would not let our kids get on a tube until they were teenagers, but by the end of the day, they both took a ride on it!!  I think I had in mind the last time I was on a tube, which was a near death experience!!  The two kids were on it with two adults and they went really slow, so I actually wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be.  Rylee apparently didn't get enough from the first ride, so she had to take one more turn with daddy before we docked the boat.

I honestly can't believe how fast this pregnancy has been going by.  In two short weeks we get to find out what we are having!  I am kind of leaning towards it being a girl, but I was wrong the last time, so who knows.  Sadly, I already bought a pair of maternity jeans, but they actually fit pretty good.  I think I stayed out of maternity pants until 6 or 7 months with Rylee.  Oh well, at least they are comfy :) Just in the last couple of days, I think I have started to feel some movement!!  I kind of forgot what it felt like to feel a baby moving in your belly, but it is such a wonderful thing to experience.  There are definitely some things that are no fun while being pregnant, but getting to feel your baby move around is almost unexplainable :)
